JKB Services Comptabilité Inc., operating as Bookkeeping Montreal, protects the personal information it collects in accordance with Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) and applicable federal law.

What we collect and why

• Quote and consultation forms — name, email, phone, company details and the information you choose to share, used only to answer your request and prepare a quote.
• Chat assistant — the messages you type, used to answer your question. Please do not share sensitive information (SIN, account numbers) in the chat.
• Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) needed to run and secure the site.

We never sell your personal information.

Cookies and similar technologies

The site only uses technologies needed for it to work (for example, remembering your consent choice and keeping the chat conversation open while you browse). No analytics or advertising tool is used without your consent. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or refuse; refusing has no effect on your access to the site. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Service providers and transfers outside Quebec

Some of our providers may store or process information outside Quebec, mainly in the United States: website hosting and form handling (Netlify), the AI model that powers the chat assistant (Anthropic, through Netlify), web fonts (Google Fonts) and email delivery. We use these providers only for the purposes described above, and only after assessing that the information will receive adequate protection.

Retention

Form submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond to you and, if you become a client, for the period required by law and professional obligations. Chat conversations are not stored in your browser after you close the tab.

Your rights

You may ask to access or correct your personal information, withdraw your consent, ask that we stop disseminating it, or ask that it be deleted. Write to info@bookkeepingmontreal.com; we respond within 30 days. You may also file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Security incidents

If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious harm, we notify the people concerned and the Commission d’accès à l’information, as required by law.
